Differences Between High-Priced, Medium-Priced and Inexpensive Solar Panels

There are various types of solar panels around and their prices are usually set by their size. Let's get an idea regarding the main differences between a high-priced, a medium-priced and a rather inexpensive solar panel.

A costly one produced by Nature Power costs about $499.99 and has 50 watts. It is portable, lightweight, very thin and semi-flexible which makes it moldable on curved surfaces. It is made of mono-crystalline solar cells and it's highly resistant to harsh weather, water, wind or corrosion conditions. It features a battery charger, which makes it ideal for campers, marine applications or RVs. It works for 12-volt batteries. It has 2.8 amperage, a 29.5 inch assembled depth, 29.5 in panel length and a 2 year warranty offered by the manufacturer.

The medium-priced one (Ramsond) costs $189.99 and it's another 50-watt 12-volt mono-crystalline PV solar panel. It has an assembled width of 20.95 inch, 29.5 in panel length an assembled height of 24.6 in and it includes an aluminum mounting frame too. The glass is tempered, patterned and designed to be up to 60% stronger that regular PV glass. It is resistant to weather conditions due to a special nitride coating that increases the absorption of light. The producer offers a 25 year warranty.

The inexpensive one is a 10-watt 12-volt Ramsond that costs $69.99. As its more expensive fellow, it also features a mounting frame and 25 year limited power warranty. Its length is 13 in, it features 0.58 amps, with an assembled depth of 1.1 in and an assembled width of 11.5 in. It's made of the same mono-crystalline silicon as the others.

If we compare them, probably the best choice would be the medium-priced one, as it seems to provide quite many advantages for a decent price as opposed to the expensive one. The cheaper one is the smallest too. Obviously not all of them would fit any building, so you have to discuss with a solar systems installer to see which one will work best for you. The prices usually range between these values ($69.99-$599.99).  A full inspection of your home and surroundings will help the solar panel provider get enough information to recommend the best solar panels for you and tell you what to expect regarding the total costs.

Regardless of the decision, you have the guarantee that you'll protect the environment, contribute to a cleaner world and cut down the costs of the utility bill too. Solar panels are a very wise investment that will pay off and make you proud in the years to come.
